Here’s your chance to be a part of one of the most storied franchises in professional lacrosse, the Philadelphia Wings. Led by Paul Day and his coaching staff, the 2023 Wings Player Tryout and Development Camp will provide you a platform to showcase your skills and earn an invitation to Wings Training Camp in November. Saturday will feature multiple sessions throughout the day and Sunday morning will consist of a live scrimmage. Session times will be assigned no later than September 29, 2023. Space is limited.

SUCCESS STORIES

Since its inaugural open tryout in 2021, players who’ve attended the Wings Open Tryout & Development Camp have received 6 Wings Training Camp Invitations, 4 NLL Contracts, and played 20 games in just two years. The following players made the most of the opportunity and made it to the NLL:

Blake McDonald

Blake McDonald was invited to training camp after the Wings first ever tryout in 2021, and earned a 1 year contract for the season. After spending some time on the practice squad, he made his NLL Debut and suited up in multiple games for the Wings. He signed a 2 year extension after the 2021-2022 season, and in the following season, Blake scored his first NLL goal, recorded an assist, and scooped up 18 loose balls in 12 appearances for the Wings.

George Downey

George Downey attended the 2021 Tryout & Development Camp and was invited to the Albany Firewolves training camp in 2022. After being cut from Albany, the Wings signed Downey to a 1 year deal before the last weekend of training camp. Downey was a key member of the practice squad last season and made his NLL Debut against the Toronto Rock in an 11-10 win on March 6th, 2023.

Christian Scarpello

Christian Scarpello earned a training camp invitation after a stellar performance at the 2022 Tryout & Development Camp. He signed a 1 year deal after camp, earned a spot on the Wings practice squad, and has his sights set on making the active roster this season.

Who:

To participate, players MUST:

Be 21 years of age, or older
Have gone undrafted in their first year of draft eligibility
Not be enrolled in a NCAA or NJCAA program for the 2023-2024 academic year
Not be under contract with a National Lacrosse League Club

$165 USD – Includes 3 field sessions and a camp jersey

Equipment:

All Players must provide their own equipment which must include the following: a helmet/facemask, shoulder pads, rib pads, gloves, shorts, athletic shoes/socks and a lacrosse stick (plastic head with a 40″- 46″ alloy handle).
