The Wings win their sixth League Championship Title with a 9-8 win over the Toronto Rock at the Air Canada Centre in front of 19,409 fans.  Wings goaltender Dallas Eliuk is named MVP.

April 24, 2001

The League names Wings President and co-owner Russ Cline as the League’s Top Executive and Head Coach Tony Resch as Coach of the Year for the 2001 season.

February 26, 2000

18,911 fans pack the First Union Center to watch the Wings defeat the Pittsburgh CrosseFire 14-8.  This is the largest single-game crowd to ever see a professional indoor lacross game.

April 3, 1999

The largest crowd of the season, and fifth largest in almost 13 years of pro indoor lacrosse (17,573) watch the Philadelphia Wings edge the visiting New York Saints 10-9 at the First Union Center.

April 18, 1998

The Wings sweep the best-of-three Championship Series with a 17-12 win over the Baltimore Thunder after having won 16-12 two days earlier.  The win is Philadelphia’s fifth in franchise history.  Wings goaltender Dallas Eliuk is named Championship Series MVP.

The largest crowd of the season, 17,077 watch the host Philadelphia Wings drop at 15-14 decision to the New York Saints at the CoreStates Center.

July 21, 1997

A new entity, combining the tradition of the MILL with two expansion teams and individual team ownership is announced – the National Lacrosse League.

Gary Gait is named as the winner of the League’s MVP award for the third straight season.

The Wings join the Philadelphia Flyers and 76ers at the brand new CoreStates Center as they defeat the Baltimore Thunder 16-11.

April 12, 1996

The Buffalo Bandits deny the Wings a third consecutive League World Championship by defeating the Wings 15-10 in front of a sold-out Memorial Auditorium.

April 9, 1996

Gary Gait is named League MVP for the second consecutive season.

February 2, 1996

The Wings announce their all-time 10th Anniversary team in a pre-game ceremony before facing the Rochester Knighthawks in the CoreStates Spectrum.

April 8, 1995

The Wings win back-to-back championships by defeating the Rochester Knighthawks, 15-14, in a thrilling overtime game.  The Wings have won four League titles in their nine-year history.

The Wings break the League’s attendance record as 17,380 fans witness the Wings defeat of the Baltimore Thunder in the regular season finale.

The Wings defeat the Buffalo Bandits, 26-15 to capture their third League Championship, the most of any team, at Memorial Auditorium in front of 16,284 fans.

Buffalo defeats the Wings 13-12 at Memorial Auditorium to secure their second consecutive League Championship.

Paul Gait becomes the first League player to score 100 career goals during a six-goal, two-assist night to help the Wings defeat the New York Saints 13-8.

The Buffalo Bandits defeat the Wings 11-10 in an overtime victory to capture the League’s World Championship.

April 20, 1991

The National Division All-Stars defeat the American Division All-Stars 25-20 at the Inaugural League All-Star Game at the Spectrum in front of 7,658 fans.

March 17, 1991

The Detroit Turbos outpace the Wings 14-12 at the Spectrum before 16,642 fans, the largest crowd of the season.

April 7, 1990

The Wings become the first team to win two League Championship Games, as they defeat the New England Blazers 17-7, in front of 11,479 fans at the Spectrum.

March 26, 1990

The Wings’ Brad Kotz and John Tucker are named as part of the League’s first All-Pro team.

The New York Saints defeat the Wings 8-5, before the first sellout and largest crowd in League history – 17,177 at the Spectrum.

The Wings edge the Baltimore Thunder by a score of 13-12 in the League’s first regular season double overtime game in history.

The league becomes known at the Major Indoor Lacrosse League (MILL).

The New Jersey Saints eliminate the Philadelphia Wings from the playoffs with a 12-10 victory in front of a crowd of 4,118.

The Wings defeat the New Jersey Saints 17-11 at the Spectrum before a crowd of 14,903, the largest of 1987.

January 10, 1987

The Wings play in the first league game at New Jersey in which the Saints defeat the Wings by a score of 11-8 before a crowd of 5,976 fans.

March 13, 1986

Chris Fritz and Russ Cline incorporate the Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League.  Fritz is named President and Cline Executive Vice President.  The League was to play in 1987 with four teams:  Washington Wave at the Capital Centre; Baltimore Thunder at the Baltimore Arena; Philadelphia Wings at the Spectrum; and the New Jersey Saints at the Meadowlands Arena.
