HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL -
The
Philadelphia Wings season and playoff hopes came to an end with a 17-11 loss to

at halftime.
“Of course we’re all incredibly disappointed,”
said Wings’ General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. “We’ve had a couple of lucky breaks
around the league that kept us in the playoff race, but we weren’t able to take
care of our own destiny. ”

Wings tied it at one when defenseman Kyle Sweeney scored. Bill McGlone put the
Shamrox by one and Philadelphia’s Athan Iannucci tied it again. The Shamrox scored two straight

to start the quarter (Panos, Josh Wasson) with a third coming from

hit after the goal and was replaced by backup Matt Roik. The Wings’ Marc Morley scored a
power play goal to give his team their first goal of the quarter. Jason Clark scored his first of
the night for the Shamrox followed Morley’s second of the night for the
Wings. Chicago scored four straight
(Wasson, Darryl Gibson, Thomas Montour, Kyle
Dupont). But, Philadelphia’s
Geoff Snider scored two straight unassisted goals to bring his team
within five with Chicago holding a 12-7 lead.
Chicago scored the first three goals of the third quarter (Jacobs’
third, a power play goal by Mat Giles and Jacobs’ fourth) and
Philadelphia scored the second three (a power play goal by Morley, Dan
Marohl, and Thomas Hajek).
At the end of three quarters, the Shamrox held a 15-10
lead.
The Wings’ Jeff Ratcliffe kept his team’s momentum going into the
