Emily is currently working
towards earning her Masters in Writing at Saint Joseph’s University, where she
also completed her B.A. in English in 2007.Currently she works as the Associate
Director of the Saint Joseph’s Fund in the university’s Office of Development
and Alumni Relations. She also serves as the editor-at-large for
Philadelphia Maven Magazine, an online women’s magazine.
Emily has participated in competitive cheerleading
and figure skating, as well dancing. She enjoys staying active and the
“untraditional means of expression” dancing gives her. This is her first year as
an Angel. Emily became interested in dancing for the Angels after speaking
with a friend who dances for the Sixers Dancers. Her first performance on-field
performance as an Angel was her favorite moment of the season. She said
seeing and hearing thousands of cheering fans was the most nerve-racking and
exciting moment of her life.
In addition to her school commitments and the Angels
dance team, Emily also spends time volunteering at the Main Line Animal Rescue
and is a member of Amnesty International.
Emily’s advice to aspiring
dancers:
“Do something because you love it and because you
cannot picture your life without it. Remember that luck is the meeting of
preparation and opportunity. Inner strength and confidence, and the ability to
take risks from time to time will prove important assets to any
dancer.”
