Wings Sign Four Players for 2009

The
Philadelphia Wings have announced the signing of four players for 2009. Goalie Brandon Miller, Forward AJ
Shannon, and defenders Luke Pinder and Sean Turner have all signed one-year
deals according to Wings General Manager Lindsay Sanderson.
Miller, entering his ninth season in
the National Lacrosse League, played 295 minutes in net for the Wings in
2008. He stopped 223 of
283 shots on goal for a 12.19 goals against average and 78.8% save percentage in
his nine games withPhiladelphia.
Shannon
played nine games with the Wings in 2008 and recorded 18 points (11G, 7A). He also collected 35 loose balls and two
penalty minutes. Shannon will be entering his sixth NLL season in
2009.
The Wings acquired both Miller and
Shannon in a three team trade on March 5, 2008. In the deal forwards Dan Marohl and
Keith Cromwell went to Minnesota; and goalie
Matt Roik and defender Brad Self were sent to Chicago.
It was also announced that defenders
Luke Pinder and Sean Turner have signed one-year contracts with the Wings. Pinder, formerly of the
Kitchener-Waterloo Braves of the Ontario Junior A League, was acquired from the
Arizona Sting in this year’s dispersal draft. Turner, who plays for the Wellington
Aces of the Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior B League, was a free agent
signing.
