Draft Board (Pre-draft 9.5.08)
NLL Entry Draft this Sunday
Friday, September 5, 2008

The Philadelphia Wings are scheduled to make eight picks in this Sunday’s NLL Entry Draft, including the ninth overall pick.  The six-round draft will be hosted by the expansion Boston Blazers and it will take place at the TD Banknorth Garden inBoston, MA on Sunday, September 7 at 11 a.m.  A total of 76 players will be drafted from a pool of prospects supplied by the NCAA’s top lacrosse programs as well as the Canadian junior lacrosse system.

“Dave [Huntley] and I have our short list of top players and we expect to get someone that will be able to make an immediate impact on our ball club,” said Wings General Manager Lindsay Sanderson.  “This draft will a great building block for the future, there are a lot of young Canadians coming out of the junior lacrosse system.  It will be a strong American draft as well; I see 2 or 3 Americans going in the first round which says a lot for where box lacrosse is headed in U.S.”

Draft weekend will begin on Saturday with 40 top prospects participating in a day long player combine which will include the NLL’s second annual Combine Game.  All events will be held at the TD Banknorth Garden.

A live webcast of the 2008 NLL Entry Draft will be available on the League’s official website, www.nll.com.
