Wings Signings Update

The
Philadelphia Wings have added nine players. The team has re-signed transition player
Patrick Heim; and signed Sean Thomson, Matt Bocklet, Anthony McDevitt, Steve
Grossi Jr, Nick Trudeau, Mickey Hover, Bill McKinney, and Brendan
Cannon.
Heim
appeared in all 16 games for the Wings in 2008 and recorded 13 points (5G, 8A)
and picked up 46 loose balls. He will be entering his second season in
2009.
Thomson, is a graduate of
Bellarmine
University
and a
Burlington
,
Ontario
native. He was the
Wings first overall pick in the 2008 NLL entry draft. In his senior season he
recorded six points (3G, 3A) in eight games played. He was also a member of
Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) Peterborough Lakers 2007 Mann Cup Championship Team.
Bocklet,
is a graduate of
John
Hopkins
University
. In his
final season at JHU, Matt recorded 99 ground balls which are the most by a non
face-off specialist in more then 30 years in the JHU program.
McDevitt,
is a graduate of
Duke
University and a resident of
Philadelphia
. During his final season at Duke
he played a major role in a defense which allowed only 7.3 goals per
game.
Grossi is
a graduate of
Drexel
University and a resident of
Wallingford ,
Pennsylvania
. He was an All Colonial
Athletic Association selection in 2007.
Trudeau
plays in Major Series Lacrosse for the Barrie Lakeshores. He scored 11 points (6G, 5A) in six games played in 2008.
Hover played at Southern New Hampshire
University where he recorded a .547 save percentage in the 2008
season.
McKinney, a 2006 graduate of the
University of
Denver, is former member of
the Major League Lacrosse’s Philadelphia Barrage.
Cannon,
is a graduate of
Georgetown
and a Haverford, PA resident. He
lead the team in scoring in 2008 with 44 points (23G, 21A).
