Wings Weekend Lacrosse Recap

Many of
your favorite Wings players were in action in other leagues this
weekend.
In the MLL, Drew Westervelt, Matt
Bocklet, and the Denver Outlaws took on Steve Panarelli and the Long Island
Lizards. Westervelt had a goal and an assist, while Bocklet scored twice forDenver. Panarelli recorded five
groundballs.
Denver
won the contest
16-9.
Kyle
Sweeney tallied two goals for the Boston Cannons, as they defeated the Chicago
Machine, 22-11.
When the
Toronto Nationals took on the Washington Bayhawks, there were more than a few
familiar faces. For the Nationals, Geoff Snider was 11-29 on faceoffs, Merrick
Thomson had a hat trick, and Jordan Levine added a goal. On the Washington side, Shawn
Nadelen picked up two groundballs, while Benson Erwin contributed on defense.
Ultimately, Toronto won by a score of 19-12.
In the
MSL, Jon Harasym, Jordan Coffey, and the Brampton Excelsiors defeated the Barrie
Lakeshores 19-3. Harasym had two assists, while Coffey added three goals and an
assist.
Mat Giles
and the Peterborough Lakers lost to the Six Nations Chiefs 13-11. Giles had one
goal and five assists, to lead the team in points.
