Wings and Bandits Prepare for "Epic Battle"
Thursday, February 11, 2010
Max Seibald, the 2009 NCAA Lacrosse Player of the
Year, will make his home debut in a Wings uniform when the Wings (1-4) host the
Buffalo Bandits (1-5) at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, February 13 at 8 p.m.
Seibald, last year's Tewaarton Trophy winner, was acquired from the Boston
Blazers on January 25, 2010, in exchange for the Wings 2010 first-round draft
pick and future considerations. He made his professional lacrosse debut in
Toronto on February 5 at the Air Canada Centre.
"Max had some good energy" said Wings GM and Head
Coach Dave Huntley. "Toronto is a tough place to play and this was the first
time he ever stepped inside an arena to play lacrosse. If everyone plays to the
level Max did, and he exceeded my expectation, maybe the result would be
different."

Coaches Corner:
“We were a little disappointed after the Toronto game
with the loss” said Bandits GM Derek Graham. “We felt that we played with
them for four quarters. This Buffalo Bandits franchise has to put some
wins under their belt, just like Philadelphia does. This game is set up to be an
epic battle.”
“We are in the same position as the Wings and I
don't want to say we will make wholesale changes if we don't get wins in the
next couple, but that might be what we have to do,” said Bandits GM Derek
Graham.
“We were just bad in all aspects of the
game...coaching, hustle, execution,” said Wings GM and Head Coach Dave
Huntley. “We have to turn it around this weekend.”
“Every week is important and everyone approaches
it as one game at a time but there are games that are essential where you draw
lines in the sand and this is one” Wings GM and Head Coach Dave Huntley.
“This is a playoff game for us.”
