Snider Honored as Transition Player of the Week
Wednesday, March 3, 2010
Philadelphia Wings Assistant Captain
Geoff Snider has been named the National Lacrosse League Transition Player of
the Week after his Game MVP performance in the Wings 15-11 victory over the
Buffalo Bandits this past Saturday.
The Wings travel to Calgary to face the defending NLL Champion
Roughnecks at Pengrowth Saddledome this Saturday, March 6, beginning at 9:30
p.m.
"Its always an honor to be recognized
for an award in the NLL, there are so many great players in the league and
its a privilege to be out on the floor battling in such a competitive
environment, said Snider. "We needed a big win Buffalo and everyone in the
organization stepped up to help us get to the next level. Buffalo is an
incredibly talented team and it was huge for us to get a big win especially on
the road. We are looking forward to Saturday night in Calgary, and are excited
to build on our performance last week."
Snider registered five total points
(1G, 4A) and had 16 loose balls, seven more than any other player, in the team’s
win over the Bandits. He also
played a large role in helping the Wings dictate the possession battle winning
an incredible 26 of 29 face-offs.
Snider currently leads the NLL in loose balls (118) and faceoff winning
percentage (.706).
Following their game in Calgary the Wings will travel to Orlando to face the Titans on Friday, March 12 before
returning home to Wachovia Center on Saturday, March 13 at 7 p.m. to
take on the Minnesota Swarm.
