Wings to Celebrate Mad Dog's Birthday this Saturday
Wednesday, March 10, 2010
Families with young kids are encouraged to
celebrate Philadelphia Wings mascot Mad Dog's first birthday celebration with
many of the City's most well-known mascots at the Wachovia Center on Saturday,
March 13, when the Wings host the Minnesota Swarm at 7
p.m.
Fans are encouraged to bring wet canned
food for dogs, toys, fleece blankets or cleaning supplies (paper towels or trash
bags) to the game with them. All items collected will be donated to the
Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) at the end of the game.
Many of Mad Dog’s best friends will attend the
Wings game, including SocceRoo from the Philadelphia Kixx, Boomer from the
Trenton Thunder, Rocky from the Wilmington Bluerocks, and Finley from the Camden
Riversharks. Just in time for March Madness, several of Mad Dog’s college mascot
friends, including Hooter the Owl from Temple University, Mario the Dragon from
Drexel University, and Will D. Cat from Villanova will also be coming to
celebrate and sing "Happy Birthday."
All of Mad Dog’s friends will present him
with his very own birthday cake, courtesy of ImagiCakes, as well as a soft
pretzel in the shape of dog bone from Philly Pretzel Factory.
Fans can help Mad Dog celebrate his
birthday throughout the night by taking part in special games and activities,
including creating birthday cards that will be delivered to Mad Dog at the end
of the night. Opportunities for photos and autographs from the mascots will
occur during halftime along with a PAWS adoption table on the concourse.
