Saturday, March 13, 2010
, PA – The Philadelphia Wings (3-8)
put up a season high 20 goals to snap the Minnesota Swarm (4-5) win streak at
three games. Kyle Wails and Dan
Teat had 10 points (4G, 6A) each and Drew Westervelt added nine points (3G, 6A)
in the victory. The Wings will

take on the Boston Blazers.
Philadelphia took an early 3-1 lead on two Wails
goals, but Minnesota stormed back to tie the game at four
at the end of the first quarter.
The Wings three top scorers all added goals in the second quarter to give
the Wings a slight edge going into the half, 8-7.
Assistant Captain Geoff
Snider opened the scoring flood gates with his tally at 3:43 of the third
quarter. Philadelphia went on to
score seven straight goals including two from Ridley, PA native Bill
McGlone. Wings Goaltender Brandon
Miller was also on his game stopping all 10 shots faced to give the team a
commanding 15-7 lead going into the fourth quarter.
In a last ditch effort to
come back Minnesota began to pull their
goaltender in the fourth quarter which helped the Swarm score three straight,
but Philadelphia
continued to overpower their West Division foe. The game was capped at the 14 minute
mark when Snider was taken down on a breakaway attempt yet still managed to beat
the Swarm goaltender from his back with incredible stick skills.
