Coaches Corner:

Wings General Manager and Head Coach David Huntley:

“I think we’ve got some good wins, which is nice to see change in results for the guy’s effort. Like a great team all along we probably played better than a sub 500 record. We have won two games in a row and I think hopefully we’ll just keep playing well, but the results whatever they are, they are.”

“I think Max (Seibald) has played pretty consistently for us; certainly he has had a baptismal fire in his very first game of box lacrosse period in Toronto which is a great place to play a great team and they put it to us pretty good that night. He played within himself and never having played the game before, he did a nice job continuing to learn the game. I think the most impressive thing about Max has been his passion and desire for the game and he’s a great player and he’s eager to continue to get better, so he’s a joy to coach.”

Toronto Rock General Manager Terry Sanderson:

“Well, believe it or not, we want to keep playing like we have been the last couple of outings. We felt our game has been in line, but in the end, good enough to get a couple of wins. I’m just not sure the lacrosse gods are with us right now but we like our work ethic and how the guys have been going at it.  We’ll be bringing the same thing to Calgary and Philly on the weekend.”

“We don’t say anything any different than coaches on other lacrosse teams or even hockey or basketball teams for that sake. You know we feel the guys are giving an effort and all we have to tell them is keep doing what your doing and eventually we’ll get out of this spot. Our coaching staff happens to believe good things happen when teams work hard and we feel we’ve been working hard. Sooner or later something’s got to give.”

“We’ve had a couple minor lineup changes in the past couple games but especially on the defensive end. We also have some very veteran guys on our team and they know the effort is there, but its probably as frustrating to the Mannings, the Doyles, the Wassons. These are the veteran guys that are telling the young guys to keep going at it, you’re working hard things will change so as frustrating as it is for Troy and the coaching staff I think our players are feeling the same thing.”
