Dear Philadelphia Wings Fans:

More than twenty-six years ago, a ragtag bunch of American lacrosse players took to the road to promote the possibility of a professional indoor league. The Canadian opposition during this ‘tour’ proved to be too formidable a foe for us at that time. The results of the first few games for the US side resulted in more stitches and broken bones than goals scored. It is an obvious understatement that we needed some help – anything – that would help the morale of this ‘all-star’ team. Then we found what we needed - the third game of the series was played in the Spectrum – problem solved. Behind 16,000 delirious fans and unmatched electricity, our team found a way to eke out a one goal victory.

As we fast forward a generation, it is clear that Philadelphia remains the heart of American Indoor lacrosse and the soul of the NLL. I am charged with rekindling the fire that has set us a part from all other franchises – to return the Wings to glory. I am asking for your help. We have run out of excuses for our lackluster play. This stewardship comes with an expectation that our players compete with unmatched intensity. What we lack in talent – we will make up for in heart and passion. That is my guarantee to you. Please join me in celebrating our Silver Anniversary in 2011. We will give you everything we have – laying it on the line each and every time we take the floor. You will be proud of this team. It is an honor for me to return ‘home’ to Philadelphia. Together, we will get this done. I look forward to seeing you soon!
