The Philadelphia Wings intend to foster a relationship with area youth lacrosse players and coaches that promotes a healthy lifestyle, provides positive role models, gives access to professional lacrosse players to the youth lacrosse community and offers inroads for players and coaches to access knowledge and experience in playing the indoor game.
Through such programs as the Wings Youth Camps and the Lacrosse “Wake-Up Call” speaking series, the Wings hope to share information and educate players in the Greater Philadelphia area on achieving your personal best as an athlete and resist the negative temptations that face young players today.
Following the 2012 season, Philadelphia Wings all-star players have been visiting area high schools and to club teams to speak with them about the importance of a positive, healthy lifestyle as an athlete
Entitled, “A Lacrosse Wake-Up Call”, this speaking series addresses fitness, nutrition, peak performance management as well as factors that deter an athlete’s ability to perform; including drugs and alcohol.
High schools and other interested lacrosse clubs may contact the Wings Front Office for more information and how to book a speaking session on this important topic here.
