WINGS ALSO TO RECEIVE BANDITS’ 2013 THIRD ROUND DRAFT PICK
The Philadelphia Wings have acquired Buffalo Bandits forward Kevin Buchanan and the team’s 2013 third round draft pick in a trade that will send forward Mike Hominuck and transition player David Brock to Buffalo.
Buchanan tallied 10 goals and 19 assists in 15 games last season with the Bandits. A four year veteran, the left-handed forward will join forwards Ned Crotty, Brendan Mundorf and off-season acquisition Kevin Ross as the top lefty forwards for the upcoming 2013 season. The Wings are hopeful that Buchanan can replicate his 2011 totals when he tallied a career-high 24 goals and 33 assists while flanking current Wings star Dan Dawson while they were teammates in Boston.
“We really love Dave and Mike and appreciated their commitment to the Wings organization and know they will enjoy their new roles in Buffalo,” said Wings Head Coach and General Manager Johnny Mouradian. “Kevin played with a number of our players on the United States Indoor National Team last year in Prague that was coached by Blane Harrison, so there is some nice familiarity with our team.”
In addition to receiving the Bandits third round pick in the 2013 NLL entry draft, the Wings also sent forward Mike Hominuck and transition player David Brock to Buffalo in the trade. Last season Hominuck scored 14 goals and added 36 assists while Brock tallied three goals, two assists and 66 recovered loose balls.
