Wings complete the Sunday Sweep

PHILADELPHIA WINGS DEFEAT COLORADO MAMMOTH 14-12 AT WELLS FARGO CENTER SUNDAY TO SWEEP WEEKEND DOUBLE-HEADER

The Philadelphia Wings won their second game in as many nights with a 14-12 victory over the Colorado Mammoth at Wells Fargo Center Sunday afternoon.

The victory improves Philadelphia’s record to 4-3, tied with the Buffalo Bandits for second in the NLL East, after the Wings defeated the Rochester Knighthawks 10-8 on the road Saturday night.

For the second consecutive game the Wings got off to a sluggish start, trailing 5-3 after the first quarter, before rallying to take a 9-7 lead into half. The Wings would never trail again, holding the Mammoth to just four goals after the intermission.

Six different Wings registered goals in the win, highlighted by forward Drew Westervelt with four, and three each from forward Kevin Ross and transition player Paul Rabil. Kevin Buchanan added five assists for the Wings while goal tender Brandon Miller registered 37 saves between the pipes.

The Wings hit the road to play the Buffalo Bandits on Friday, March 1, before returning home to Wells Fargo Center versus the Washington Stealth on Saturday, March 9.

Tickets to all Philadelphia Wings home games are available online at www.WingsLAX.com, by phone at 215-389-WING or in person at the Wells Fargo Center Box Office.
