Wings Get Rocked by Toronto

The Philadelphia Wings ran out of luck against the Toronto Rock, losing 13-8 in the team's St. Paddy's Day Kick-Off game at Wells Fargo Center Saturday afternoon.

Philadelphia, still playing without the services of their Captain Brodie Merrill and Assistant Captain Brett Manney, struggled to find a rhythm tying their lowest scoring output of the season.  In the two games against the Rock, Philadelphia has scored only 14 goals, coming out 1-1 on the series.

The lone bright spot in the Wings defeat was an offensive resurgence from forward Kevin Crowley who scored five points on four goals and an assist. Paul Rabil and Drew Westervelt each had three points on a goal and two assists. Wings goalie Brandon Miller recorded 38 saves in defeat.

The Wings second consecutive loss at home drops the Wings to 5-5. The Wings are tied with the Buffalo Bandits and remain in second place in the NLL East Division.

The Rock were led by Josh Sanderson with five points on four goals and an assist, while Colin Doyle has a goal and six assists for seven points on the night.  Toronto goalie, Nick Rose who leads the league in saves, recorded 45 against the Wings.

The Wings have a bye week next week and then return to action with back to back road games against Minnesota and Colorado March 29 and 30. Tickets for all Wings home games at Wells Fargo Center are available online at WingsLAX.com, by phone at 215-389-WING or at the Wells Fargo Center box office.
