Six Wings Coming to PPL Park for MLL Championships

As the regular season for the MLL came to a close this weekend, six Wings players will find themselves and their teams in back in Philadelphia for the Championship Weekend at PPL Park next weekend.  Brendan Mundorf and the Denver Outlaws, finished a perfect 14-0 season defeating Hamilton 18-12 and will take the top seed into the weekend; with the loss, Hamilton will take the three seed.  Kevin Crowley has three goals and two assists for the Nationals and secured a share of the league scoring title for the season.  Chesapeake defeated Charlotte to clinch the second seed behind four goals and two assists from Drew Westervelt as well as a goal from Jeff Reynolds in his second game back this season.

Three Wings players were in the Top Five in the league in scoring, Paul Rabil finished in second with 54 points behind Crowley’s 55 points on 36 goals.  Westervelt rounded out the top five with 48 points on 36 goals. Mundorf’s 41 points on 23 goals put him in tenth place on the scoring list, totaling four Wings players in the league’s top ten scoring.

Six members of the 2013 Wings will be competing at PPL Park September 24th and 25th for the Major League Lacrosse Championships. Wings Captain Brodie Merrill, Kevin Crowley, Drew Westervelt, Jeff Reynolds, and Brendon Mundorf will all be battling for the Championship.
